In the early 1990's, Liverpool Centre for health was set up as a pilot project in complementary health care.

Since then, the terms CAM (complementary alternative medicine) and intergrated health have been of great interest to GP's, patients, communities and national government.

In March 2007, a group of unemployed people from Liverpool were given the chance to train as holistic therapists.

Based at a community centre in Alt Valley, they would learn a variety of new skills and techniques that would form the basis of a potential career within the therapeutic community.
